Historical Route
Ethiopia boasts an array of unique and diversified tourist attractions that includes: history, nature, culture as well as beautiful traditional events and festivals, and Ethiopian ancient civilization which was prominent along with Babylon, Egypt and Greece as an Axum Empire. Archaeologists’ findings allow Ethiopia to be credited with the prestigious title of “the cradle of mankind”

Ethiopia is a place of legendary rulers, kingdoms and ancient mysteries, where you can journey back in time to Axum - Ethiopia’s most ancient city, Lalibela – the site of the 12th century rock-hewn churches, literarily carved out of a mountain side, which are the marvels of man’s faith and ingenuity, to Gondar - Ethiopia’s 17th century capital with castles and churches, to Bahir Dar – site of old monasteries around Lake Tana and the source of the Blue Nile. Visitors from abroad often regard the rock-hewn churches of Laibela as something out of this world. The churches stand still as monuments to the power and spirit of the ancient Christian faith. Just attend an early morning service in one of the rock hewn churches to appreciate the accuracy of this observation: the heavy rhythmic music with an undertone of Drums, the chant of the deacons, the congregation giving thanks or calling out for the mercy of God, the cool dark walls, the texture of rough stone floor, the silhouettes of people standing, leaning on prayer sticks, or slumped down in obeisance... Throughout this mysterious and wonderful thriving and populous city of the medieval times, priests and deacons go about their timeless business, scarcely seeming aware that they are living in what has became known as the eight wonder of the world.

Ethiopia has got the unique and contrasting nature from snow-capped peaks of the Semien Mountains to the arid low land desert of the Denakil depression, which makes Ethiopia the greatest centre of endemic wildlife and birds in the African continent.

Ethiopia is thoroughly a modern nation, too. Witness the huge new state-of-the-art terminal at Addis Ababa Bole international Airport, The United Nations Conference centre which combines architectural elegance with high-tech facilities, the Luxury collection Sheraton, The Hilton and many other hotels that offer convenient and practical packages for all kinds of meetings and conferences. Recent streamlined immigration procedures also facilitate entry through provision of Visas on arrival.

The traveller in Ethiopia makes a journey through time, transported by beautiful monuments, people and the ruins of edifices built long centuries ago... If only you started your journey in the heart of the New Flower - Addis Ababa. As it is a part of a brilliant, secretive, mysterious and extraordinary country ...truly a tourist paradise.
